Indiana Colleges and Universities

Indiana has seven (7) public institutions with a total of 39 campuses throughout the state. In addition, there are 32 private institutions.

Two-year post-secondary educational institutions offer certificate programs (less than two years of work), professional technical programs (Associate of Applied Science), and transfer programs (Associate of Arts and Associate of Sciences degrees).

Four-year colleges and universities offer undergraduate and graduate programs, depending on the institution's mission. For example, primarily liberal arts colleges offer bachelor's degrees; universities offer bachelor's and some master's degrees; and research universities offer bachelor's, master's, and doctoral/first professional degrees. Not every degree program is available at every institution.

Many institutions have extended education offices that make courses, programs, and services available in nontraditional, more flexible modes; e.g., computer-delivered courses, interactive video courses, evening courses, weekend college, and international programs. Information on campus life, admissions requirements/procedures, registration, residence, degree programs, course schedules, and faculty is available by visiting (clicking on) the sites below.
